The Boston Red Sox fired manager John Farrell on Wednesday.

Farrell is out after the Red Sox lost to the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series.

Farrell went 432-378 in Boston, including winning a World Series in 2013.

But since then, the Red Sox have come up short, losing in the first round of the playoffs in two straight years.

Farrell was fired with one year left on his contract, according to ESPN. He was hired in 2013.
