Radio host Rush Limbaugh said accusations of sexual harassment against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein have been buried for years due to one specific reason: activism on behalf of Planned Parenthood.
The Hollywood community and lawmakers were rocked last week when a New York Times story on Mr. Weinstein, a key donor and for the Democratic Party, revealed actresses and insiders willing to discuss decades of harassment claims.
Mr. Limbaugh told his millions of listeners that “all kinds of Get-Out-of-Jail-Free cards” are granted to liberal activists if they are willing to promote abortion.
“Everybody’s asking, ’Why? Why hasn’t Hillary, why hasn’t Obama, why hasn’t Michelle (My Belle), why haven’t they reacted?” the conservative host said, according to a transcript of Tuesday’s show. “Why haven’t they condemned what Harvey Weinstein did? Why did it take so long?’ Daniel Greenberg at FrontPageMag has the answer: Look at his donations to Planned Parenthood.”
Mr. Weinstein attended Planned Parenthood’s 100th Anniversary Gala on May 2 in New York, where he took part in a charity auction and purchased a piece of art for $100,000.
“He was probably one of the largest financial backers and powerbrokers of the pro-abortion movement in this country, and that alone will buy you absolution of so many sins that you commit elsewhere, it’s impossible to list them,” Mr. Limbaugh continued. “But abortion is the sacrament. If you look at the American left and liberalism as a religion, abortion is the sacrament, and that’s the big test. If you do right on that issue, you are buying yourself all kinds of Get-Out-of-Jail-Free cards. And Harvey Weinstein was among not just the biggest donors, the biggest attendees at all of these different events and fundraising events all over the world. … It’s why Clinton gets a pass. Bill Clinton and others get a pass on everything they do is because when the rubber meets the road on the issue of abortion, they are 100 percent liberal pure.”

The Weinstein Company’s board terminated Mr. Weinstein, 65, on Sunday.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton released a brief statement Tuesday afternoon saying that she was “appalled” at the revelations coming out about Mr. Weinstein, but she did not mention what would become of his campaign donations.
“The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior,” Mrs. Clinton wrote.
Update: Planned Parenthood released a statement on Wednesday saying that Mr. Weinstein “has never been a donor to Planned Parenthood Federation of America,” and that his $100,000 pledge went “unfulfilled.”
