DENVER (AP) - Forecasters say up to 8 inches of snow could fall in the northern Colorado mountains as a wintry storm moves into the state.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Sunday through Monday night from Aspen north to the Wyoming border. Forecasters issued a less severe winter weather advisory for much of the rest of northwest Colorado.

Forecasters say the snow will start above 10,000 feet but gradually descend to about 7,000 feet by Monday morning.

Some mountain roads could be impassable because of the snow.

The Weather Service also warned that the weight of the snow could break utility lines and tree limbs, resulting in power failures.
