No. 9 Washington (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12, CFP No. 9) at Stanford (6-3, 5-2), Friday, 10:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
Line: Washington by 6 ½.
Series record: Washington leads 42-40-4.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
The Huskies need a win to remain in sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 North and keep their hopes alive of getting back into the four-team playoff for a second straight season. The Cardinal can win at least a share of the division title with wins against Washington and California.
KEY MATCHUP
Washington D vs. Stanford RB Bryce Love. Love has 10 runs of at least 50 yards this season, including at least one in every game he has played. That has helped him lead the nation in rushing at 182 ypg. But he now faces perhaps the best defense at stopping big plays. The Huskies haven’t allowed a run longer than 30 yards this year or a pass of at least 40 yards.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Washington: WR/PR Dante Pettis. Pettis broke the NCAA record last week with his ninth career punt return for a TD, including four this season. Pettis is also a threat on offense. He had four catches for 87 yards, including a 47-yard TD catch last week.
Stanford: QB K.J. Costello. Costello makes his third start of the season and looks to bounce back from a rough day against Washington State. He completed just 9 of 20 passes for 105 yards with no TDs and one INT.
