ORWELL, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say two teenage brothers in Ohio have been killed after a head-on collision east of Cleveland.
The State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 19-year-old Jonathon Mulhauser, of Rome Township, went left of center Wednesday morning and struck a cargo van driven by a 32-year-old Jefferson man on State Route 45 in Rome Township.
The collision also killed 18-year-old front-seat passenger Jacob Mulhauser, who was being driven to Grand Valley High School in Orwell. The teens died at the crash scene. The cargo van driver reportedly wasn’t injured.
The state patrol says both vehicles caught fire after the collision. The Ashtabula Star Beacon reports a school bus driver stopped and tried to extinguish the flames.
Rome Township is about 55 miles (89 kilometers) east of Cleveland.
