Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford underwent knee surgery Tuesday to deal with his ailing knee injury, ESPN reported

Bradford has appeared in just two games this season, in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints and in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears. The quarterback hurt his knee during the Saints game and was only able to play a half against the Bears.

The Vikings, according to multiple reports, are strongly mulling putting Bradford on injured reserve, which would cause the quarterback to be done for the year.

ESPN reported that Bradford had an arthroscopic procedure to “clean up” his knee, smoothing out a bone spur and removing loose particles. The operation was done by Dr. James Andrews.

Bradford previously tore his ACL in 2013 and 2014.

The Vikings, who play the Redskins this week, will stick with starter Case Keenum, who has played in seven games this season.
