SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Spokane police officers have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal stabbing after conducting an hourslong manhunt.

The Spokesman-Review reports that a woman was stabbed to death Tuesday morning in Spokane Valley.

Police arrested 37-year-old David M. Campbell, who is accused of fleeing a residence before officers arrived to investigate a report of domestic violence. It wasn’t immediately clear if Campbell had an attorney.

Investigators believe Campbell knew the woman.

Julie Morefield, the victim’s neighbor, said she believed Campbell was the woman’s ex-boyfriend.
