MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s Republican Party has selected as its leader the former head of the Chittenden County GOP, who also helped lead President Donald Trump’s campaign in the county.

The party’s executive director, Jeffrey Bartley, tells the Burlington Free Press that Deb Billado, of Essex Junction, was elected Saturday as chairwoman of the party.

Billado replaces David Sunderland, the chairman since 2013. He did not seek re-election.

Michael Donohue, of Shelburne, had also sought the post. Bartley declined to release the exact vote count.

Brady Toensing was re-elected as the party’s vice chairman. Deb Ricker was chosen as secretary, Rick Morton as treasurer and Tom Koch as assistant treasurer.
