RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say an off-duty sheriff’s officer detained a person at gunpoint after the driver was involved in multiple crashes on an interstate in Riverside, California.

The Press-Enterprise reports that authorities with the California High Patrol say the driver didn’t stop after striking a motorcycle traveling northbound on Interstate 215 near the University of California, Riverside on

Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the driver then struck two more vehicles before being detained by the off-duty officer. The Motorcyclist was not injured.

Highway patrol authorities did not say what sheriff’s department the officer worked for.
