The Minnesota Vikings will activate quarterback Teddy Bridgewater from the physically unable to perform list this week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bridgewater suffered a horrendous injury — tearing his ACL and dislocating his knee — Aug. 28, 2016, on a non-contact play in practice. A former 2014 first-round pick, Bridgewater started 29 games for the Vikings in his first two seasons. But the knee injury forced the quarterback to miss all of last season, and the Vikings traded a first-round pick for Sam Bradford.
The Vikings play the Washington Redskins Sunday and it will be interesting to see if Bridgewater returns as the starter.
However, according to ESPN, that’s unlikely. The Vikings current plan is to stick with starter Case Keenum, who has thrown for 1,610 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions in seven games.
Keenum replaced Bradford, who has been dealing with a knee injury throughout the season. The Vikings are also considering putting Bradford on IR, ESPN reported.
