The Phoenix Suns traded guard Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday in exchange for center Greg Monroe and two 2018 draft picks.

Bledsoe, 27, gives the Bucks a lengthy, play-making point guard to go along with star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The guard had been inactive since Oct. 23, when he tweeted “I don’t wanna to be here” a day earlier. The tweet came on the same day the Suns fired coach Earl Watson.

The Suns, projected to finish as one of the NBA’s worst teams, get a reliable backup center and a first-round pick to help further along their rebuild.

Bledsoe has appeared in just three games this season, averaging 15.7 points and 3.3 assists per game.

Monroe, a center who starred at Georgetown, joined the Bucks as a free agent in 2015, but has been out with a left calf strain.

ESPN first reported the deal, which was formally announced Tuesday afternoon.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
