PASADENA, Md. (AP) - A 16-year-old boy has been charged after social media post threatening a shooting at a Maryland school was reported.
Anne Arundel County Police said in a statement that the threat was made late Sunday against Northeast High School in Pasadena.
The Baltimore Sun reports a Snapchat photo showed a hand holding the ammunition magazine of a gun with the caption “Shooting up Northeast tomorrow” and a racial slur.
Police met with the youth and his parents Monday and found the teen did not have the means to carry out the threat. Authorities say he had no affiliation with the school.
The youth is charged with threats of mass violence and disturbing school operations.
