Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker kicked off his campaign tour Monday, a day after announcing he intends to seek a third term.

“Looking forward to discussing with voters across the state how we’re ready to keep moving #WIForward!” Mr. Walker, a Republican, captioned a video on Twitter. He plans to travel the state starting Monday in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to kick off his 2018 re-election campaign.

“I want you to know I believe in you, I believe in the people of Wisconsin, and I believe there is more to be done,” Mr. Walker said at his announcement rally on Sunday at a manufacturing site.

Mr. Walker’s slogan “Move Wisconsin Forward” capitalizes on some of the recent economic success for the state, including sealing a deal with Foxconn Technology Group to build a massive new facility in his state.

The Wisconsin governor has generated arguably the most visceral reaction from protesters of any governor in the country during his tenure. A grueling debate with teacher unions in the state led in part to his recall election in 2012, which he won. He is also among the only governors elected in 2010 who are not term-limited this cycle.

Mr. Walker was also a Republican presidential candidate in 2016, but he was an early dropout in the contest.
