CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper airport official says more people are using the airport this year compared to last year, which he say is a sign that Wyoming’s economy is coming back from the energy downturn.

Casper/Natrona County International Airport Director Glenn Januska tells the Casper Star-Tribune that the airport has seen an increase in passengers.

Rental car revenue, which the airport receives a portion of, and parking revenue is also on the rise.

Januska says passenger enplanements, or the number of people boarding planes, went up by 4.4 percent this year despite Allegiant Air announcing a stoppage and a brief closure for runway work.
