DETROIT (AP) - Authorities have released from custody a 23-year-old woman initially suspected in the fatal shooting of a Detroit auto parts store manager during a robbery.
Detroit police say Saturday that investigators determined the woman was not involved in Wednesday’s shooting at the O’Reilly store on the city’s northwest side.
Surveillance video shows two women running from the shop about 5:30 p.m. after James Haller Jr. was shot once in the head.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig has said a $12,500 reward was being offered for information leading to arrests in the case.
Craig said Haller was Vietnam war veteran and also served in the 1970s as a reserve police officer in Detroit.
