CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Building safety officials have posted notices of code violations on four trailers in a south Cheyenne park that city officials have criticized.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports residents have 30 days to address the violations posted on Wednesday before the city takes action that could lead to condemning the structures.

An inspection in October identified violations such as disconnected gas and electric meters and lacking water and sewer services.

Mayor Marian Orr says the actions were about protecting residents’ safety, and the city has contacted homeless shelters to help house the displaced.

Officials with the two organizations that operated the shelters say housing the displaced families could be a challenge.

Resident Tony Bowman says he was homeless before and his cited trailer is all he has.
