John Wall emerged in the Wizards’ locker room after Washington’s 130-22 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday with a sling around his left shoulder. The Wizards star point guard received X-rays for a shoulder sprain.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported after that the X-ray was negative.

“It’s on fire right now,” Wall said. “It’s pretty sore.”

Wall hit the deck hard on a screen in the second half and remained down while grabbing his shoulder. He remained in the game.

“I shouldn’t have been out there, but I was trying to compete,” Wall said. “I told them to just give me some spray and try to play through it.”

Wall had 23 points and 15 assists in the loss, though went 6-of-15 from the free throw line.

“He is as tough of a competitor I’ve ever been around,” Wizards coach Scott Brooks said. “Not concerned about John. I thought he gave everything he had.”

The Wizards next play Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. Wall was unsure if he’ll be able to continue to play through the injury.

“We’re going to have to wait and see,” Wall said. “I hope so though.”
