A Detroit TV station reported Wednesday evening that Rep. John Conyers Jr. will not run for re-election in 2018.

However, the Michigan Democrat will not resign from his seat before then, as an increasing number of his colleagues are demanding in the wake of several women accusing him of sexual harassment and misconduct, according to Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV-TV, channel 4.

“Two sources close to the Conyers situation told Local 4’s Rod Meloni that the congressman won’t resign. It’s his intent to announce in January that he won’t run for re-election in 2018,” the station wrote.

Mr. Conyers has denied the sex-abuse charges.
