Democrat Doug Jones is outspending controversial Republican Roy Moore by nearly a 10 to one margin in the Alabama Senate race, according to an NBC News report out Tuesday.
Advertising Analytics LLC calculated Mr. Jones has put $5.6 million into both television and radio ads during the general election race so far. Mr. Moore has spent about $600,000.
Mr. Moore has been the subject of controversy since allegations of sexual misconduct broke, allegations that he pursued teenage girls when he was in his 30s working in the district attorney’s office in Alabama.
The report calculates that Mr. Jones’ ads appeared more than 6,000 times since the scandal compared to just over 1,000 airings of Mr. Moore’s ads.
Many Republican groups pulled their support from the state’s former chief justice after the allegations became public.
