SAN DIEGO (AP) - A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy is under internal and criminal investigation following accusations by three women that he improperly groped them.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Monday that 31-year-old Richard Fischer was placed on administrative leave, and a lawsuit and two claims on the allegations were filed against the county.

Fischer has not responded to the newspaper’s requests for comment.

Department officials say investigations were launched after learning of the first allegation in late October. Officials say the department will take appropriate action when the investigations conclude.

The latest claim says a woman was groped after the deputy responded to a 911 call.

Attorney Dan Gilleon, who is representing the three women, says his clients spoke out after they “found courage in each other’s willingness to come forward.”
