Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced Tuesday that he’ll seek a second term.
Mr. Baker’s adviser, Jim Conroy, released a statement Tuesday confirming the news. The Republican governor followed up the announcement in a tweet.
“We’ve accomplished a lot together, but there’s more work to do: That’s why I’m running for re-election as your Governor. Follow @BakerPolito and visit http://CharlieBakerMA.com to stay connected with our campaign,” Mr. Baker tweeted.
Mr. Baker was expected to run for re-election, but he made the announcement earlier than expected. Several Democrats are also planning runs in the deep blue state of Massachusetts, but Mr. Baker’s moderate politics have made him very popular in the state.
