The Senate Republicans’ tax plan gives a break to the nation’s top earners while those in the lower-income brackets would be worse off, according to the Congressional Budget Office score released Sunday.

The CBO claims Americans earning less that $30,000 a year would face more difficulties. The big reason for the hit is related to less health care assistance from the government.ted to less health care assistance from the government.

The CBO also says the bill would add $1.4 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years.

Senate Republicans have said they’d like this bill passed by the end of the year, prior to Congress’ departure for Christmas break.
