SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 22-year-old man who they say tried to run down an officer with a stolen van and later rammed into their vehicles.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports deputies on Sunday pursued and shot at the van driven by Kevin Meza but did not hit him. The suspect was treated for minor injuries and was booked into Vista Detention Facility on $335,000 bail.

A deputy was treated for minor injuries, as was a dog believed to belong to the suspect. The sheriff’s office said that the dog is in stable condition and recovering at a local shelter.

The newspaper reports Meza was apprehended after he slammed the van into two patrol cars and airbags deployed.

It was not immediately known if Meza had an attorney.
