SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A woman was found dead in a Spokane County home and her boyfriend has been arrested.

The Spokesman-Review reports that police say they are holding Nicholas Holden on a second-degree murder charge. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on Friday night.

Investigators say the woman appeared to have been physically assaulted in a domestic violence incident on Thursday night.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause of death at a later time.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, first responders were called to the Newman Lake home after receiving a report of a woman with an unknown medical problem.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not immediately known if Holden had a lawyer.
