BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - In a story and broadcast fixtures on Nov. 26 about Montana ski areas opening earlier than usual, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Bridger Bowl Ski Area opened over Thanksgiving weekend. The ski area did not open on Friday as scheduled and has not scheduled its opening as of Monday.

Warm weather prevents Montana ski area from opening ahead of schedule

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Warm weather has prevented a Montana ski area from opening earlier than usual.

After abundant snow, Bridger Bowl Ski Area was set to open over Thanksgiving weekend, which would have been the earliest opening since 2010.

The Billings Gazette reports warm weather cancelled those plans at the last minute Friday. As of Monday, an opening date had not been scheduled.

Big Sky opened over Thanksgiving weekend as planned and with twice as much snow as usual - 24 inches at mid-mountain and 36 up top.
