SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old man shot and killed his mother and father inside their Sammamish home before taking his own life.
The Seattle Times reports the King County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Richard Nicolini fatally shot 58-year-old Ricardo Nicolini and 65-year-old Mary Ellen Nicolini on Friday.
The parents both died from a gunshot wound to the head, and investigators determined their deaths were homicides. The medical examiner had ruled the son’s death as suicide.
A King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman says a family member had asked deputies to check on the father after he did not show up for an appointment.
The spokeswoman says deputies found the bodies on the floor inside the locked house on Saturday, and a gun was located near the bodies.
