Sen. Al Franken has been accused by another woman of inappropriate touching, this time while he was serving in the Senate, according to a CNN report.
Lindsey Menz told CNN that she and her husband met Mr. Franken, a Democrat, at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010 when he was in his first term in office. She said that while posing for a photo with Mr. Franken, the senator pulled her in very close and squeezed her buttocks.
Mr. Franken said in a statement to CNN that he did not remember the exchange, but said he felt bad that Ms. Menz came away from the experience “feeling disrespected.”
She posted the photo to Facebook near the time of the exchange in 2010 and some people commented on her closeness with Mr. Franken, according to CNN. Ms. Menz responded that Mr. Franken “molested” her and called him a “creeper.”
She is the first woman to accuse Mr. Franken of inappropriate behavior while he is serving in the Senate.
This follows an accusation from television and radio host Leann Tweeden, who claimed Mr. Franken forcibly kissed her and groped her while on a USO tour in 2006. A photo depicted Mr. Franken suggestively touching Ms. Tweeden while she slept. Mr. Franken apologized for the exchange.
