AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say an 81-year-old man was killed over the weekend when he was struck by a car while crossing the street.

The Portland Press Herald reports the crash happened around 6 p.m. Saturday in Augusta. Police say the man was struck in a crosswalk by a car driven by 55-year-old Andrew Bilodeau, of Augusta.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he later died. Bilodeau was not injured in the crash.

No charges have been filed.

Police continue to investigate.
