MILWAUKEE (AP) - Bryce Nze had 17 points and nine rebounds and Brett Prahl scored 15 points to help Milwaukee beat Florida International 66-51 on Saturday night in the Black and Gold Shootout.

Nze and Prahl combined to make 13 of 20 from the field, and Jeremiah Bell scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers, for Milwaukee (3-0). Milwaukee, which came in shooting 55.1 percent from the field, tied its season low with 48-percent shooting, but hit 9 of 17 from 3-point range.

Bryce Barnes hit a 3 to give Milwaukee a 31-29 lead at halftime and Jeremy Johnson scored all eight of his points - including two of Milwaukee’s four 3-pointers - during a 14-2 run to open the second half and FIU trailed by double figures the rest of the way.

Eric Lockett had a career-high 23 points, Brian Beard Jr. scored 13 and Trejon Jacob added 11 for FIU. The rest of the team scored just four points on 2-of-16 shooting.
