ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Country star Thomas Rhett will be the halftime performer on Thanksgiving Day as the Dallas Cowboys host the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rhett will lead Thursday’s nationally televised halftime show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington to help kick off The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign.
Rhett earlier this year won the Academy of Country Music award for Male Vocalist of the Year. Rhett in 2013 had his first No. 1 hit with “It Goes Like This.” His hits also include “Die A Happy Man.”
The Red Kettle Campaign begins on Thanksgiving Day and runs through Christmas Eve. Officials say the charitable effort has raised nearly $2.2 billion since the Thanksgiving Day partnership with the Dallas Cowboys began in 1997.
