Jordan Reed, Terrelle Pryor, Spencer Long out Sunday for Redskins

ASHBURN — Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, tight end Jordan Reed and center Spencer Long were all ruled out Friday for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Pryor is out with an ankle injury and will see a specialist Monday in Charlotte. Besides Pryor, wide receivers Ryan Grant and Brian Quick were ruled questionable with concussions, potentially giving the Redskins just three healthy receivers. Redskins coach Jay Gruden said he hopes to get one of Grant or Quick, if not both, back for the game.

Reed will miss his third consecutive game because of a hamstring strain. The tight end didn’t practice this week, working to the side with trainers. He suffered a setback last Thursday while practicing.

Meanwhile, Long is out with quad tendonitis and will miss his third game with the injury. Long returned last week was limited against the Vikings, playing only 12 snaps. Rookie Chase Roullier will start again in Long’s place.

In addition to Long, tackle Trent Williams (knee) and guard Shawn Lauvao (stinger) were listed as questionable.

Gruden said among the Redskins’ injuries, the offensive line is the biggest concern “without a doubt.”

“We will have to figure that out and get a better gauge tomorrow morning and see how they are doing walking around and go from there,” Gruden said.

The Redskins will also have to account for a short turnaround following their trip to New Orleans, as they play just four days later on Thanksgiving against the New York Giants.

Williams, who has been dealing with a bone bruise and a torn ligament in his knee, said he was concerned, but only focused on the Saints. Williams practiced Friday for the first time in a week, repeating a similar plan as last week.

“I want to be available for Sunday,” Williams said.

Gruden agreed, saying they are just trying to manage their injuries for the Saints.

“We have to take care of this game first of all and then we will worry about Thursday,” Gruden said.
