YORK, S.C. (AP) - A woman who led police on a chase that started in South Carolina and ended in North Carolina has been arrested.

Clover Police Chief Randy Grice told local media the chase started Wednesday morning in Clover and ended in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Thirty-one-year-old Katie Miranda Atkins is being held in the Cleveland County jail. He says she was wanted on outstanding warrants including shoplifting, identity fraud, and drug possession. She is awaiting extradition.

Grice said his officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle around 5 a.m. Wednesday. He says Atkins rammed a Clove police car in the minivan she was driving. The officer was not hurt.

Clover police and York County sheriff’s deputies chased Atkins into Gaston County, North Carolina, and then into Cleveland County.
