Cue Ozzy Osbourne. The Democrats have finally boarded the Crazy Train.

A handful in the House just introduced five articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. Sigh.

Psychiatrists take note; here are the names: Reps. Marcia Fudge of Ohio, John Yarmuth of Kentucky, Luis Gutierrez of Illinois, Adriana Espaillat of New York and Al Green of Texas. The ringleader? That’d be Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee.

“We have taken this action because of great concern for our country and our Constitution, our national security and our democracy,” Cohen said at a press conference announcing the impeachment proceedings. “We believe President Trump has violated the Constitution.”

How so?

By obstructing justice, undermining the federal judiciary system and the First Amendment — freedom of the press, that is — and by obstructing justice. Oh, yes, and by violating both foreign and domestic emoluments clauses. Quite a list.

Quite a waste of time, too.

Even Cohen admits the Republican-controlled House isn’t likely to initiate hearings on the allegations. And certainly, the Republican-controlled Senate would never convict.

But at least now Democrats have something to campaign on, come 2018, right? And don’t forget the fundraising — there are a lot of pockets that can be tapped on the far left if impeachment is put on the table.

Either way, it must be easier than having a real platform and message.

“House Democrats lack a positive message and are completely unwilling to work across the aisle, so instead they’ve decided to support a baseless radical effort that the majority of Americans disagree with,” Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Ahrens told Newsweek.

Yes, indeed.

Truly, Democrats have been running so long on an anti-Trump message they’ve quite forgotten how to campaign on something real. This impeachment mantra, which stretches all the way back to pre-inauguration days, thanks to Rep. Maxine Waters, reeks of nothing more than a schtick, though.

Democrats are wasting time, wasting taxpayer resources and trying the patience of sensible Americans from all political parties. Nancy Pelosi, where are you? The woman who strong-armed Obamacare into existence can’t control and silence her minions on this? Leadership needs to nip this in the bud — unless of course, the new Democratic Party plan of politicking is to lose, lose, lose. If that’s the plan, fine — but in the meanwhile, it only underscores the craziness of the left.
