Three UCLA athletes were released Tuesday from China after being detained for shoplifting — and now President Trump is wondering if they’ll say thank you.

Trump tweeted Wednesday that the players, who returned to the U.S., “were headed for 10 years in jail.”

On Tuesday, Trump said he personally worked with Chinese President Xi Jinping to help resolve the situation.

Last week, three UCLA players — LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley — were arrested in Hangzhou, China for allegedly shoplifting at a Louis Vuitton store near the team’s hotel. UCLA was in China for a game against Georgia Tech.

Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Scott thanked Trump and UCLA officials for helping secure the release of the players.
