The Republican National Committee will reportedly withdraw party support for the Senate campaign of GOP nominee Roy Moore in Alabama.

According to a report in Politico, citing “a senior party official briefed on the decision,” the RNC is ceasing joint fundraising operations with the Moore campaign, will transfer no more money and will pull a team of paid canvassers to aid the Moore campaign in the state.

Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel will hold a conference call later Tuesday with RNC members to brief them on the pullout.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee already had cut off the Moore campaign, increasingly beset by charges of sexual abuse of minors, and the NRSC head, Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, has said the Senate should refuse to seat Mr. Moore if he wins.
