Rep. Jim Jordan said Tuesday he wants a special counsel to investigate whether the dossier was used to justify a FISA warrant on those associated with the Trump campaign.

“What I want to know is who is going to look into the fact that the DNC and the Clinton campaign financed through their law firm, Fusion GPS, to put together the dossier?” Mr. Jordan, Ohio Republican, asked on CNN. “And it sure looks like that dossier became the basis that was presented to the FISA court to get a warrant to spy an Americans associated with the Trump campaign.”

Mr. Jordan says he plans to ask Attorney General Jeff Sessions these questions when he appears before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Some in the Obama Justice Department, who issued the FISA warrant, denied the dossier was used to bolster their claim to get the warrant. Republicans, however, say they want more information on what role the dossier did play.

Mr. Jordan said that, similar to the investigation into collusion claims, a special counsel is needed to investigate this matter further.
