New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday that he had concerns about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn from the beginning of the presidential transition.

“He was not always my cup of tea in terms of style, but I made that clear to the candidate at the time,” Mr. Christie said on ABC News. “Gen. Flynn and I did not see eye to eye on certain things.”

When asked if he had advised President Trump to fire Mr. Flynn prior to when Mr. Trump made the decision, Mr. Christie deflected.

“My advice to the president is my advice to the president, and I don’t talk about that publicly,” the New Jersey Republican said.

Mr. Christie did say, however, that Mr. Trump made the right decision to ultimately let Mr. Flynn go.

“I was with him the next day, and I told him I thought he made the right decision,” the governor said.
