RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say five teens were arrested after leading deputies on a high speed chase in a stolen car that ended when the vehicle crashed and flipped over in inland Southern California.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Monday (https://bit.ly/2pg1H1T ) that the pursuit began after an automatic license plate reader detected a Volvo reported stolen.

The driver sped away as deputies tried to pull over the car, which topped 80 mph as it raced through city streets in Rancho Cucamonga on May 5.

The Volvo eventually crashed into a center median and flipped over.

Five boys - a 17-year-old, two 16-year-olds and two 15-year-olds - were extricated from the wrecked car, checked out by medical personnel and arrested.

They were all booked into San Bernardino Juvenile Hall on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony evasion.
