Sen. Amy Klobuchar said Monday that she wants to ask former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates how she informed the Trump administration about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s ties to Russia.

“The first will be about the fact that she had warned the White House, and while she may not be able to reveal classified information, she can tell us the process. Was it just some heads up at a cocktail party?” Ms. Klobuchar said on CNN. “There have been intimations it wasn’t a real formal warning, and I think it was.”

The Minnesota Democrat is a member of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, which Ms. Yates intends to testify before on Monday.

Ms Klobuchar said she had not heard that former President Barack Obama has also warned President Trump of Mr. Flynn’s questionable background, but that she wasn’t surprised considering Mr. Obama had dismissed Mr. Flynn as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014 over issues of infighting with the staff.
