COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon school board says it will begin an investigation on superintendent after formal complaint was filed against her.

South Lane School Board Chairwoman Sherry Duerst-Higgin tells the Register-Guard (https://bit.ly/2qGoOTh) that the board will hire an “outside impartial party” to look into a complaint against Superintendent Krista Parent. Cottage Grove residents Jennifer and Chris Holloman filed the complaint against Parent Monday.

They claim that Parent has a romantic relationship with a subordinate employee. They say she spends quality time with the employee during work hours at the elementary school where they work.

Other Cottage Grove residents say the pair’s actions have disrupted district staff, administrators, school board members and employees.

School district policies do not ban romances between supervisors and employees.
