Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took a shot at the media and implied that supporters of one candidate in the French presidential election were interfering with democracy.
In a tweet Sunday afternoon, the former first lady who was defeated by Donald Trump for the U.S. presidency sent congratulations to Emmanuel Macron and said it was a triumph over democracy’s opponents.
“Victory for Macron, for France, the EU, & the world. Defeat to those interfering w/democracy,” she tweeted, before going on to attack the media.
She concluded the tweet with “(But the media says I can’t talk about that).”
In an interview last week, Mrs. Clinton said she would have won the U.S. election were it not for FBI Director James Comey investigating her and interference by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In less than 15 minutes, the tweet had garnered more than 4,600 Retweets and almost 11,000 Likes.
