SEATTLE (AP) - A 33-year-old Bellevue man has been charged with three counts of indecent liberties for alleged daytime attacks on women in Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports (https://goo.gl/Bt6ZqN ) James Richard Montgomery was arrested Tuesday near his apartment.

Senior Deputy Prosecutor Carla Carlstrom wrote in charging documents that in a seven-week period, Montgomery attacked three women, all strangers, and attempted to sexually assault them.

In each instance the women screamed and the attacks were interrupted by witnesses, causing the attacker to flee. Police say a witness followed Montgomery to his car, a red Chevy Cruze.

Charging papers say Montgomery has that make and model of vehicle and that the women identified him in a police photo montage.

Montgomery remains in jail on $500,000 bail.
