The San Antonio Spurs are expecting guard Tony Parker will need season-ending surgery after suffering a leg injury Wednesday against the Houston Rockets, Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
Parker suffered a non-contact injury to his left leg and needed to be carried off the court in the Spurs’ 121-96 Game 2 win over the Rockets. He had an MRI Thursday.
After the game, San Antonio coach Greg Popovich told reporters, “it’s not good” regarding Parker’s injury.
The extent of the injury is still unknown.
Parker, 34, averaged only 10.1 points and 4.5 assists per game this season, both his lowest since his rookie season in 2001. Patty Mills will most likely start in his place.
