Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said Thursday the Senate needs to change in order for the Trump administration to accomplish their goals.
“The Senate has to do something different to break the stalemate. We’re still not full on our cabinet believe it or not,” Mr. Mulvaney said on “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”
He said that without change, Congress and the Trump administration will be right back where they started.
“The appropriations process from all indications is not going to get back to regular order in the Senate this year, which means we’ll be back here in September with another [continuing resolution] or omnibus.”
The White House budget director called on Senate leaders to fix the problem before they have to come to the negotiating table again.
“The Senate is broken and whatever Mitch McConnell can do to fix it he needs to do because, well, just because the country needs it,” he said.
