TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson have arrested the stepfather of a teenage Vail girl whose body was found a day after she was reported missing on May 10.

Police said at a Wednesday news conference that 37-year-old Joshua Lelevier has been arrested on first-degree murder charges and for abandoning or concealing a body.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan said 13-year-old Jayden Glomb was asphyxiated. He also says it appears her body was already dead when it was dumped alongside a road in Vail. A passer-by discovered her body on May 11.

Dugan says Jayden was living with her mother and Lelevier at a home in Vail when she disappeared. Dugan said he didn’t know a possible motive.

Vail is a small community just south of Tucson.
