FARGO, N.D. (AP) - U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao is headlining an annual unmanned aircraft conference in Fargo.
Chao is scheduled to kick off the two-day Drone Focus Conference Wednesday morning at the Fargo Civic Center. She leads the agency that oversees the Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates drone operations.
Chao is one of about 45 speakers at the Fargo conference, which will include sessions on autonomous vehicles and other technology.
U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, of North Dakota, says Chao also plans to meet with representatives from Grand Forks to learn about regional research, operations and development of unmanned aircraft.
