ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - A former Dixie State University student who says school staff mishandled her sexual harassment report against faculty members has filed a federal complaint.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports the former student in her complaint says she was expelled in retaliation after she reported to the school’s Title IX office that faculty members had made sexual comments to her that made her feel uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights has not announced whether it will investigate. The University of Utah, Brigham Young University and Westminster College are already under investigation for potentially mishandling sexual assault complaints.

Dixie State in a statement told the newspaper that the school’s harassment and discrimination policy “was followed in respect to the particular circumstances of this unique case.”
