CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Two people have been killed in separate shooting in Charlotte over the Memorial Day weekend.

Police said in a news release that 35-year-old Julian Williams was found dead Friday night inside an apartment at an upscale complex near downtown Charlotte.

Authorities say 20-year-old Andre Young-Johnson is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and kidnapping. Police say the men knew each other, but haven’t said what led to the killing or how Williams died. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.

Officers responding to call about a shooting around 11:30 p.m. Saturday say they found a man dead in a north Charlotte parking lot.

Authorities think 22-year-old Anderson Biggers was meeting the man who shot him. No arrests have been made.

The Saturday killing was Charlotte’s 34th homicide in 2017.
