LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky has signed assistant Lin Dunn to a contract extension through the 2017-18 season.

The Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer came out of retirement last May to join coach Matthew Mitchell’s staff and help shore up a program that underwent an exodus of players and assistants. Kentucky went 22-11 last season and returned to the NCAA Tournament before losing in the second round.

Dunn said Thursday in a release that she looked forward to working another season on Mitchell’s staff and added, “The great thing about our staff is that we have similar core values that make it easy for us to work together.”

Dunn, 70, coached the Indiana Fever to the WNBA championship in 2012 and has won 447 games in 25 years as a college head coach.
