PANGUITCH, Utah (AP) - A Utah judge has ordered an Arizona teenager accused of killing a counselor at a ranch for troubled teens to stand trial on murder and other charges.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2rn3uCK) that Judge Marvin Bagley made the ruling following an evidence hearing on Thursday in the case of 17-year-old Clay Brewer of Snowflake, Arizona.

Prosecutors showed a video of Brewer talking to a deputy from a hospital bed in December. The recording shows Brewer saying he was going through withdrawal and feeling abandoned by his parents when he snapped and beat 61-year-old Jimmy Woolsey to death with a piece of rebar at the southern Utah ranch.

Brewer is also accused of attacking another worker who survived and leading police on a high-speed chase.

Brewer is expected to enter a plea on June 22.
